What is Ozone Garment Wash?

Ozone wash is a term generally used to describe a philosophy of textile care that uses electricity and oxygen in a unique way.

How Does Ozone Work?

Ozone carries an electrical and chemical charge, this gas is injected into the water during the wash cycle, and this exposure to ozone gas neutralizes bacterias.
Once washed, the remaining odor of ozone is minimal and neutralizes into oxygen, by this time the textile is mostly dry.
This process will eliminate most organic bacterias, like mold; however, it will NOT address mold stains.

A secondary option to ozone wash, is to have the textiles/garments exposed to ozone in an ozone treatment room. Items are hung on hangers, placed on a rack and ozone gas is emitted in the room. The ozone is moved throughout the room using air movers to ensure the ozone gets on every exposed surface.

This process is used for most fire restoration claims as the ozone concentration is much higher and the exposure time is much longer, making it much more effective.

Once the ozoning is complete, it takes up to 3 days to neutralize. The neutralizing process can be sped up if the textile is cleaned (dry clean or wash).
